Long Dark Is It Worth Repairing Lanterns?
This question has haunted me too. Is in that location any reason to repair a storm lantern at all?
Not yet, and since arrowheads are more than useful, I don't think I'll ever repair mine. I don't see any reason why it'd go downwardly in condition either.
I think the reason it has condition is that it tin can get damaged during wolf struggles, deport attacks or moose tramplings (or so I've heard). So if my magnifying glass or lantern is < 20% I tend to think about whether I need it on my (unless of course I forget, which if often).
Yes you can repair lanterns, with a toolbox and a chip metal.
Aye you tin can repair lanterns, with a toolbox and a bit metal.
How did I not know that?
Information technology's not a matter of if you can repair it. Information technology'south rather, do you need to? Equally arrowheads are far more than valuable, specially with flashlights effectually + turning up the brightness.

Samuel .... why do you worry nearly arrowheads being more valuable. I am in a 120+ twenty-four hour period run and accept not forged whatsoever arrowheads, I have not lost whatsoever and have aquired a total or ix so far. Since they dont break or wear down I dont run into how using a unmarried slice of metel is going to affect anything in the long run.

Arrows disappear all the damn time. I actually just made a mail service about it in the technical issues forum. Information technology'due south an old issue. Things just get stuck under the terrain for some reason. Lost maybe four just last night that mode.
Only I relish the long game.
Though, now with Custom being a thing... I feel information technology's almost pointless, salve to find out where everything is on all the maps.

Well in TLD, hell has kinda already frozen over XD
If I have only 1 lantern and information technology's at low condition, I repair it. If a bear mauls me I'd prefer my lamp survive. Scrap is not a limiting resource in whatsoever practical regard. No matter how valuable pointer heads seem - I'll run out of material or birch 1000's of days before I run out of chip.

Fair signal. I call back I might consider for the long haul once I've nerveless everything, to simply identify a lantern at certain points, and then I don't have to travel with one on me.
